Mi-28N helicopter

The Mi-28N combat helicopter of a new generation is intended for: search and destruction of tanks, enemy's manpower; destruction of protected objects and surface targets (trenches, defence constructions, etc.); installation of mine fields; search and destruction of boats and other small float means; fighting with high-speed and low flying enemy's AC; destruction of low-speed air targets day and night in simple and adverse weather conditions.

Accomplishment of combat missions and high survivability of the helicopter are provided by:

• high precise armament complex;
• integrated airborne radio electronic equipment complex;
• high effective armored cabin (including side armor windows), providing crew's safety against amour-piercing - incendiary bullets caliber 12.7 mm and against projectiles caliber 20 mm);
• helicopter's airborne multifunctional defense complex;
• separated engines and shielding of vital aggregates by secondary ones;
• application of new materials and structures stable to combat damages including the fuel system which excludes explosion or ignition of fuel.
  

The helicopter is fitted with an airborne radio electronic equipment complex, which provides:

• performance of flight at night in adverse weather conditions with map-of-the -earth flight at extremely low altitudes (5-15 m) in automatic mode;
• search, detection and identification of ground and air targets, definition of their coordinates and output of target designation to ground and air command posts;
• interaction of helicopters in a group with target designation from the leading to the supporting helicopter and exchange of data between the helicopters;
• deep built-in monitoring, operation on condition and training of crew.
